Fashion-focused brand My Babiie offer a range of modern products “for little people who dream big” – with some help from celebrity collaborations.
The My Babiie Giraffe Travel System is a Gold Award winner in the 2022 MadeForMums Awards. It was designed by TV star and first-time mum Dani Dyer for parents to use as their baby grows, with 3 different “seat” options that adapt to your baby as they get bigger. The design is stylish and eye catching which feels a bit out of the ordinary when it comes to baby travel systems. It’s suitable from birth up to 15kg.
Tested by
The system was tested by Georgia Day with her 1-month-old baby. They took it out and about in the car and tested each “seat” component and on different terrains to see how it faired.
What were your first impressions of the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System?
When I took it out of the box, my first impression was it’s an attractive travel system which would fit easily around our lifestyle with the baby. I like the fact the car seat, toddler seat and carrycot are the same design, so it looks like a unified set. The interesting design details on the frame and seating made the whole thing stand out.
How easy is it to build?
The My Babiie Giraffe Travel System is a pretty easy travel system to put together and feels like an intuitive design. I was able to put it together quickly and with no help.
It has an easy-to-follow instruction booklet covering each part of the system which includes a handy “Dos and Don’ts” section.
What do you think of the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System carrycot in terms of comfort and quality?
The carrycot seems to be comfortable for my baby. He enjoys being in it when he’s more upright but he definitely didn’t like lying flat in it! There’s plenty of room for him at the moment and I would say it’ll probably be okay for him for another couple of months until he’s 3 or 4 months old. He’s in the top percentile so is a bigger baby. It’s recommended for babies from birth up to 6 months old.
It’s not too heavy to carry and feels substantial. I liked the feel and function of the fabric and design. I also really liked the plastic rain window. It’s a neat and snug design just covering the space at the front of the carrycot that’s exposed to the elements, as opposed to being a huge cumbersome plastic sheet.
How easy is the carrycot to add on/take off the pushchair?
Like the rest of the attachments, it’s very easy to click into place and feels secure once it’s on the frame. Unfortunately, there’s no information from the manufacturer about whether it’s suitable for overnight sleeping.
What do you think of the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System car seat in terms of comfort, ease of use and quality?
The car seat is a good basic car seat which my baby seemed happy and comfortable in so I had no worries being in the car with it. The main difficulty I had was clicking it in and out on my own. The buttons either side of the seat, which you have to click in to release it from the frame, are spaced a little too far apart for me to be able to do on my own.
However, fellow parent tester Rebecca found the seat quick and easy to click on and off. She tested it with her 4-month-old and said “you can literally click a button and take your baby out of the car in the seat, and back in safely”.
It does require adaptors to click onto the frame as well, which you need to take off and on each time you use it. I found it made sense to always keep them in the base of the frame so there was no chance of forgetting them.
It’s a little on the heavy side but no worse than others I’ve used. You do have to buy a separate Isofix base (which we weren’t sent to test). I couldn’t use my old Isofix base with it and instead had to just strap the seat in the car using the seatbelt. It felt fine as far as this kind of fastening goes – pretty secure – but I would always prefer an Isofix base if given the choice.
One Amazon reviewer described it as an odd shape and found it pushed her 7lb baby’s chin into her chest, which concerned her in terms of breathing.
How easy is the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System to fold?
The frame itself stands out as being particularly easy to use which is a real bonus. A lot of other buggies I’ve used are complicated to even get the frame together. This one just collapses easily and intuitively but you do have to take the seat out. You also have to remember to carry the two clips with you that allow the seat to slot in. The seat unit can be both parent facing and world facing which is great as your baby grows.
Fellow tester Rebecca found it easy to pick up the chassis one-handed and said folds and unfolds easily.
Is the buggy compact when it’s folded?
The buggy folds really easily and I liked the fact that the frame doesn’t take up too much space in the boot either. It’s always good when a buggy can lie relatively flat and you can fit other bits of baby stuff in as well.
How easy is the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System to push and steer?
My main gripe with this buggy is that it feels quite clunky when it comes to steering which means it’s not great if you find yourself in a tight spot. It doesn’t feel very flexible and smooth and so I found myself steering it a little like a supermarket trolley at times! On smooth ground it’s fine but I noticed it more on uneven terrain.
However, Rebecca found the buggy smooth to push and felt it handled bumpy ground well without bouncing her baby round too much.
It also doesn’t navigate kerbs that well. We had several bumps getting the buggy up and over even very slight kerbs which was annoying. Another home tester from our Awards, Abi, also found the buggy difficult to use on kerbs, particularly with an older, heavier child. She tested it with her 2-year-old who is 13kg and found she needed to put a lot of weight on the rear axle to get the front to tip high enough to mount the kerb.
Sound-wise it’s quiet and smooth with no rattling or annoying noises, I suppose helped by the fact it is a bit on the clunky side. Abi was impressed by how well the buggy handled on cobbled pavestones with both her baby and toddler. She found minimal shaking of the seat and chassis.
What’s the chassis like?
The chassis is rose gold and a satin finish and is strong and sturdy and I had no issues with it at all. Abi found there was minimal shaking of the chassis when she used the buggy on cobbled pavestones. The rear suspension is covered with flexible tubing to prevent water and dirt getting into the suspension coils.
How do you rate the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System buggy handle?
The handle is comfortable enough and slightly padded. It has a brown leather-like finish which looks smart and means it wouldn’t show dirt very easily which I liked. The stitching is where your fingers hold it which isn’t super comfortable, and the stitched seam is quite bulky.
My main complaint is that the handle of the buggy is not adjustable which I found really irritating. I’m on the taller side (5”8) which meant the handle was too low for me. That didn’t make using the buggy impossible, but it wasn’t as comfortable as it would’ve been if the handle adjusted to fit my arm length.
Was the seat unit comfortable, easy to use and adjust?
Our baby only just started using this but it’s a great option for him. I like the fact that it’s quite deep so he was in a very comfortable sitting position – he fell asleep as soon as we put him in which is always a good sign. The design looks snug and baby seemed very happy in it. The bar sits across him comfortably and I can see it being a great option to continue using as he grows. It reclines well and is easy to adjust. The fabric is easily cleanable using just a damp cloth, or can be completely removed to clean.
Abi found her 2-year-old looked a bit restricted for space in the main seat and she sometimes found it difficult to clip the harness together.
What’s the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System hood like?
The fabric is nice and looks good. The hood is on a sturdy frame which means it stays in place when pulled down and it’s a good size so that it totally covers baby’s face when needed. It doesn’t have a peephole window but that didn’t bother me.
What are the wheels like?
The wheels are a decent size and feel sturdy for the size and shape of the buggy. They stay on the frame which means collapsing and putting up the buggy is really easy in that respect, as you’re not fiddling with wheel fixtures. Overall, they coped well with different surfaces.
How effective are the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System brakes?
The brake pedal is positioned in an awkward place which meant I kept kicking it when I was pushing the buggy. It’s also quite a big pedal so you really feel it when you kick it and it doesn’t make for a very comfortable experience. I felt like I was tripping over it. I think it could have been positioned elsewhere to avoid this problem or perhaps made smaller.
How big is the shopping basket?
The basket is really nice and deep and can accommodate a big changing bag. It’s also easy to reach into and nothing gets caught on the bottom bar of the buggy which is a common complaint with other buggies I’ve used.
What’s in the box?
- Chassis and adapters
- Car seat
- Toddler seat
- Carrycot
- Raincover
What additional accessories can you buy for the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System?
- Isofix base for the car seat. Not essential but would be my preference.
Now you’ve tested it, what would you have wanted to know before purchasing the pushchair?
I think the main thing I’d like to have known is that the handle isn’t adjustable as this has affected how comfortable it is for me personally to use everyday
Who would the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System be best for?
Parents who want a stylish, everyday travel system that looks good and performs well. It’s useful for those with their first baby as it has everything you need without having to shop around separately for everything.
Is this pushchair good value the money?
I think it is worth the money. It’s not cheap but it’s certainly not as expensive as others on the market and you get a solid, three-part system that can be used until your baby is over a year old. It’s also distinctive looking and the design feels a bit different from everything else out there.

MadeForMums Verdict:
Overall, I really enjoyed using the My Babiie Giraffe Travel System. It's a fun, easy-to-use product that had a lot of compliments on the school run which is intuitive and easy to use. Despite the issues I had with it in terms of the handle and brake positioning, I would still happily recommend it to other mums. I think it’s particularly good for first-time parents as I do think the negatives I found with it were outweighed by its other good points.
As it's a travel system, it is also a good choice for anyone feeling overwhelmed and intimidated by the range of choices out there for each individual bit of kit. For the price point, I also think it demonstrates good value for money, especially considering so many baby purchases can be extortionate.
