In a world where Insta-influencers lead the way, fashion-led brand My Babiie pride themselves on modern products “for little people who dream big” – with some help from celebrity collaborations. The Believe Collection by Katie Piper is on-brand and this highchair lives up to its description of being “whimsical, playful and eye-catching.”

The highchair is designed to stand out, featuring a blush pink leopard print cushion and rose gold look frame. Suitable for use from 6 months up (or when your baby can sit up unaided) Retailing at £89.99, similar to the Red Kite Feed Me Combi at £90, but considerably cheaper than the premium Maxi-Cosi Minla highchair at £179, this attractive and simple to use highchair offers both style and substance.

Rachel works in Communications and is from Cardiff. She tested the My Babiie Katie Piper Blush Leopard Believe Premium Highchair with her 8-month-old daughter, Aly, through her early weaning journey.

What were your first impressions?

Some highchairs can look plain, so I was pleasantly surprised to unwrap this fashionable highchair and even more pleased to realise it was a perfect match with the rose gold and copper décor in our kitchen. A great first impression!

How easy is the My Babiie Katie Piper Believe Highchair to assemble?

At this stage of being a new parent, it feels like there is a new piece of equipment to assemble each week and the assembly always fills me with dread. I needn’t have worried. The highchair was simple to build and took just a few minutes to get it up and running, and a few more minutes to familiarise myself with the various adjustments.

It was similar to a previous highchair we owned, and the set-up/design seems to be quite standard for many highchairs. The instruction booklet that accompanies the chair includes diagrams (no words), but I didn’t find the instructions necessary and simply glanced at them for reassurance before starting the assembly.

I had some difficulty removing the protective covers on the bottom of the legs of the highchair – this needed quite a bit of elbow grease. However, these are to be discarded once removed so this isn’t an ongoing issue.

What are the straps like on the highchair?

With any young baby who has discovered their hands, touches everything and enjoys their new-found freedom, a 5-point safety harness strap is fantastic. It means that I don’t need to ‘do battle’ with Alys to get her arms through the straps, and I can relax knowing she is secure.

The straps can be tightened and have always stayed in place while she eats. As with any highchair straps, they are prone to getting dirty (especially during those early weaning days) but that’s the name of the game and I was able to sponge-wash them easily enough.

How easy is it to get your baby in and out of the My Babiie Katie Piper Believe highchair?

I had no issues. The tray does need to be removed entirely to get your baby in and out of the highchair, and a few online reviews did complain about this, but personally I didn’t find it too much of an inconvenience.

Does the highchair feel comfy?

What struck me most about the My Babiie Katie Piper Believe highchair was how padded the seat cover appears. I did wonder how long these would last without going flat, but have been pleased to find that over time and use, the padding is still nice and plump.

There are 3 recline settings, meaning a baby can safely relax after food in a reclined position if they so wished. We didn’t find a need for anything other than the most upright position, especially for safety when beginning weaning onto solid food, but overall found it a very comfortable and supportive seat for Alys.

Is the My Babiie Katie Piper Believe Highchair adjustable?

Yes; there are 6 height positions and 3 recline positions, offering lots of choice. To save this new mama’s back, we have the highchair at its highest height setting (number 1) but it is very simple to change between the different settings.

This means you can adjust the chair to suit your dining table, for instance. As Alys is fairly new to the weaning journey, the most upright seat position suited her age and ability.

What is the age range of the highchair?

The chair is suitable from 6 months, or when your baby can sit up unaided, and is suitable up to 15kg (approximately 3 to 4-years-old). By the time Alys reaches 3 or 4, I imagine she will be less keen to sit in a highchair for her meals, but for now – it is an ideal chair that I see her using for some time to come.

How easy is the My Babiie Katie Piper Highchair to clean?

Design aside, ease of cleaning is one of the top priorities for me in a highchair (or any piece of baby equipment for that matter). With a weaning baby, things got messy quickly and it was important to me that I could clean food away from all parts of the chair without fuss. This highchair delivered.

The padded seat is removable for cleaning, and the plastic surrounds are easy to wipe clean. What’s more the removable top tray is dishwasher safe.

Does the My Babiie Katie Piper Believe Highchair take up a lot of space?

It definitely has a large footprint, measuring H:112cmxW:56.5cmxL:73cm when set up. Even when folded, the highchair still measures a substantial H:100cmxW:56.5cmxL:73cm.

As we found the highchair aesthetic so appealing, we mostly left the chair out as a feature in the kitchen (and for ease), but should it need to be stored away this shouldn’t be a problem. The chair is very easy to fold away (with the press of a noticeable red button) and is free standing in a folded position, meaning it doesn’t need to be propped up against a wall or other surface

However, if a more compact fold is important to you, something like the Chicco Polly Magic Relax, which measure H85cmxW53cmxL31cm when folded, might be a better bet.

Is the highchair easy to move around?

Unfortunately, the highchair has no wheels and so it can’t be wheeled from room to room but needs to be carried around. Luckily, it is light enough to do so, weighing only 8kg (I’m a pro at carrying this weight now, with picking up baby so often).

It wouldn’t be a piece of equipment I would travel with, as it would take up too much precious car space.

Do you like the style of the My Babiie Katie Piper Believe Highchair?

Yes. Of course, leopard print isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but it is a popular pattern and definitely stands out from the crowd. Sometimes baby equipment such as highchairs, walkers etc can be unattractive and you are eager to hide the item away after use, but this highchair takes pride of place next to the dining table in the kitchen, and I feel it’s an excellent addition to any modern family’s kitchen.

The general design is quite standard for a highchair, but this model has lots of lovely features. Little details, such as the glittery tray and the rose gold legs, help makes it feel quite unique.

How does the My Babiie Katie Piper Believe Highchair compare to other highchairs?

There are a number of premium highchairs by My Babiie, including collaborations with Sam and Billie Faiers, Christina Milian and reality star Dani Dyer. All of these highchairs are priced the same (£89.99) and are the same style highchair, but with a different design (e.g. different colours or cushion prints).

Having used a wooden highchair as well, I prefer plastic for cleaning, but if you prefer a more classic wooden design, something like the iconic Stokke Tripp Trapp, £159, is a good choice, especially as it can be used right up through to adulthood.

The My Babiie Katie Piper Believe Highchair offers similar features to the Graco Swift Fold, £120, but at a more affordable price.

Who is this highchair most suited to?

I think the My Babiie Katie Piper highchair is most suited to an audience who love their celeb endorsements (or are big Katie Piper fans) and like an eye-catching chair for their home. If you’re bored of all the muted greys and neutrals on offer, this could be right up your street.

Is the My Babiie Katie Piper Highchair value for money?

As celebrity collaborations go, you tend to pay for the name, however at £89.99, this My Babiie highchair is actually really good value considering the quality and features it delivers at this price point. With numerous height settings and recline modes, as well as a very padded comfy seat and removable tray, it offers a lot more than you’d expect for under £90.

MadeForMums verdict:

Bang on-trend, sleek and easy to use and clean, the My Babiie Katie Piper Believe Highchair ticked all the boxes for us. For the price, it hits all the right notes, although if you’re very short of space at home and need a highchair that folds up into a neatly compact package, this may not be the one for you.
