Great choice for environmentally aware parents who don't want to clog up landfills with nappies, or damage the atmosphere any more than necessary.
Nature babycare baby nappies are a great choice for environmentally-aware parents who just don’t have the time or the patience for reusable nappies. These have the convenience of disposables, with easy-to-use Velcro tags, and are absorbent enough for day-to-day use and to help prevent nappy rash.
Nature babycare nappies are made from totally chlorine-free materials and have a natural, corn-based coating, and as a result are much better for the environment than traditional disposable nappies – they claim that not only to they degrade much quicker in a landfill, but if incinerated they release far fewer harmful chemicals into the atmosphere.
The nappies for young babies, which are sizes 2 and 3, to fit 6lbs to 20lbs, fit well and the Velcro tags are easy to use.
What we love
Nature babycare nappies are not decorated with lots of pictures like other disposables, but this is mostly because that would mean using lots of dyes, so instead they’re just an off-white colour with lots of little green leaves on them, which is perfectly fine – especially considering what they’re used for!
What to watch out for
The main issue with them is that, although the absorbency is fine for day to day, you do need to move onto the next size fairly quickly to make sure the absorbency is high enough to prevent leaks. But it’s not a big problem, and they still leave baby nice and dry to help prevent nappy rash. At night-time, however, we did decide to opt for another brand of non eco-friendly nappies, just to prevent leaks – but this only meant one a day rather than several.
Who are Nature babycare young nappies best for?
Anyone looking to save a few pennies. Cost-wise, they’re not much more expensive than any other nappy, so they’re pretty good value for money, relatively.
The fact they’re not full of chemicals is the major plus point, because it means they’re kind to baby’s skin. We never had a case of nappy rash using the newborn nappies. With so many hundreds of thousands of nappies being used in the UK every day, an eco-friendly one can only be a good thing.
