What we love
The Nearly Nude Comfort Bra is a maternity wardrobe basic. Similar to the way a sports bra works, without underwiring or uncomfortable strapping, it offers the support of a normal maternity bra. It feels very soft to the touch, moving with the wearer like a second skin, whilst controlling the bust well.
As it comes in a nude option, it can be worn under white t-shirts or dresses, without any unsightly strapping showing through.
Although it can be worn throughout the day, the Comfort Bra can be especially effective at night, particularly during the first trimester, when breasts are often at their most sore. It’s gentle enough not to squash the tender bust area, but strong enough to offer enough control.
Several co-ordinating pieces are available to mix and match, including a strapless bandeau bra, a practical brief, g-string, and several different control vests and tank tops. Each piece in the range is machine washable and highly durable and can be worn well beyond post-pregnancy.
What to watch out for
Although practical and very comfortable, the Nearly Nude Comfort Bra is not going to get a man’s pulse racing. Seduction comes way down the list - sexy lingerie this ain’t!
As this range is produced by an Australian company, you’re unlikely to find this brand on the high street. In fact, it’s hard to come by on the internet, too. Isabella Oliver and Mama-La-Mode are two UK maternity websites that have this product for sale.
Additionally, because the sizing range only goes up to 16, it doesn’t cater for the larger plus-size lady.
Who is the Nearly Nude Comfort Bra best for?
For mums-to-be with tender breasts, after a practical solution for the first trimester through to post-pregnancy.
Nearly Nude’s Comfort Bra is a great 24-hour a day bra, It’s discreet enough to go under a white t-shirt, but protects the delicate bust area at night, too. It’s highly durable, and is useful post-pregnancy. However it’s not easy to find, and if you’re over size 16, you’re out of luck.
