My 8-week-old Joe has taken to the bottle well since we introduced it at 4 weeks and this one was no exception. He latched on well to the teat and it is the most natural one we’ve come across, which makes this a really good option for mums who are combining bottle with breastfeeding or who are introducing their baby to the bottle for the first time.
The anti-colic valves in the base and teat of the bottle allow air to flow in, reducing the amount of suction your baby needs to apply. Joe can tire easily while feeding but this helped him keep sucking for longer and seemed to minimise dribbling. Although no bottle can completely eliminate colic, Joe did seem slightly less burpy than usual after feeding.
The Nuby Natural Touch SoftFlex Silicone Nurser was quick and easy to clean, sterilise and assemble. The soft silicone that the bottle is made from is pleasant to hold, with the indents in the side of the bottle providing a good grip.
What to watch out for
The Nuby Natural Touch SoftFlex Silicone Nurser is on the bulky side considering it only holds 150ml.
The measurements on the side of the bottle are really tricky to read – especially once the bottle goes cloudy after several sterilising sessions in the microwave.
Its also worth bearing in mind that replacement teats might not be that easy to get hold of as this is an American company, which isn’t stocked as widely as some other brands.
