The Nuby One-Touch really is simple to use. Just load the steriliser, pour in 70ml of water (measured in one of the bottles included), put the lid on and press the button. A painless process.
What we love
Some electric sterilisers look bulky, but the Nuby One-Touch is sleek and curvy. Its neutral colours should blend well in any smart (or messy!) kitchen.
And, it works. I followed the very simple instructions of loading the steriliser and pouring in the right amount of water, and the bottles were sterilised in no time. This is very unlike an electric steam steriliser I started out with a few years ago, which made the whole process very complicated. It put me off electric steam sterilisers, but the Nuby One-Touch has certainly changed my mind.
I found the steam emissions were also a lot less than other electric sterilisers I’ve tried. Some seem to emit steam through the whole process, but this just seemed to do so at the end, which is a big plus. I lived in a small cottage when I first had Tippi, my eldest daughter, and our electric steriliser caused so much damp it became a bit of a problem. It seems this particular type of product has come a long way in a few short years.
Another good reason for using the Nuby One-Touch is there’s no need for a microwave, which is handy if you haven’t got one! Also, some parents like to use their microwaves solely for cooking.
Overall, the steriliser gets a big thumbs up.
What to watch out for
Although Nuby claims the steriliser does an ultra fast job in five minutes, you may want to factor in the three-minute warm-up as well. If you’re in a rush, minutes can make all the difference.
It’s expensive compared to a microwave steriliser, but comparable in price to other electric models around. And good steriliser is worth it if it’s well used.
The top layer can be a little unstable at times so you need to be careful when taking the teats and lids off.
