There’s a choice of Nurse car seats you can attach to the Hello, to create different travel systems. These are: the Capazo carrycot/lie-flat car seat, the Duplo carrycot/car seat, or the Piccola car seat. It’s by adding one of these options that mean the Hello can be used from birth.
What we love
The Nurse Hello has a smart style that appeals to both mums and dads. It comes with matching accessories, too, like the foldaway changing mat that can be hung from the handle. It also has a raincover that comes in its own bag.
The Hello gives you the choice of having your baby facing you or looking out to the world.
What to watch out for
The instruction manual is poor and I found it tough to follow.
The Hello is designed to be used up to 3 years of age. My daughter Martha is 2 years and 4 months old and she was far too big for it. While it has multiple recline positions, it doesn’t actually get any longer, so Martha’s legs dangled off the end. To get her feet on the footrest, Martha had to bend them until her knees were practically around her ears. The seat didn’t appear to be deep enough for Martha either. When I popped Martha’s 18-month old cousin, Evie, in it, her legs were also too long, though Evie was still eager to go out in it.
Folding the Hello and adjusting the handle position were my biggest bugbears. These functions are both part of the same mechanism. The handle, which has four positions, must be in the shortest position for the buggy to be able to fold. At one stage, I extended the handle fully, and it took me over two days before I could get it back again. To collapse the Hello, you turn the centre of the handle with one hand, whilst pulling up a hook with the other. This requires really strong wrists and I had trouble with it. A few times I managed to do it, but from then on, I just couldn’t get it to work. I got blisters trying, and even had a fellow mum and dad try (and fail). Finally, my husband and I and a screwdriver got it working.
Another issue with the handle is when walking, the handle wobbles a lot, something that I found annoying.
Who is the Nurse Hello best for?
Parents who won’t need to fold their buggy away.
The Nurse Hello has the looks but isn’t as user-friendly as it could be. It isn’t easy to fold and may not be large enough to accommodate your toddler as they grow. Style wise, it looks nice and has matching accessories, but this may not be enough for you to want to live with the niggles.
