How easy is it to fold the Britax B-Agile 4?
Very. In fact, the B-Agile 4’s big selling point is its “easy one-handed pull-fold mechanism” and like many of Britax’s buggies, the B-Agile boasts a multi-position seat recline including lie-flat for smaller babies, and detachable CLICK & GO adaptors, which make it easy to create a travel system.
The one-handed pull-fold mechanism with automatic fold lock means it’s super-simple to collapse.
The folding mechanism is designed similar to the Baby Jogger range, a fantastic system that just incorporates a one-handed release button and then a one-handed strap to pull, easily located at the base of the seat.
The fold lock is brilliant, so not only is the fold one-handed but the buggy is locked into position. The lock so reliable, you can immediately pick up the buggy and pop it in the boot of the car, all in one movement. This is a bonus for those of us whose toddlers have a nasty habit of running off in dangerous busy car parks.
It also has a compact folded size, with quick-release wheels allowing you to get the B-Agile even smaller, should you need to. The tyres are puncture resistant, and the front wheels are lockable swivel.
This buggy also has a 5-point safety harness with height-adjustable shoulder straps, lightweight aluminium chassis with built-in suspension for a smooth ride and a comfortable, softly padded handlebar.
Both the buggy seat and the hood are made of a soft-touch fabric, and the hood incorporates a zippered sun mesh extension.
Is the Britax B-Agile buggy safe?
You may have seen a recent recall on the Britax B-Agile buggies in the US, which has seen the brand take back because some click-and-go mounts on its stroller frames were found to disconnect from car seats, that could possibly cause a baby to fall from the product.
In fact, Britax received 33 reports of car seats unexpectedly disconnecting from the strollers and falling to the ground, resulting in 26 reports of injuries to children, including scratches, bruises, cuts and bumps to the head.
So we asked Britax UK, if this is something all parents should be aware of, and if so, what they should do, this is what Moritz Walther, Marketing European Director of Britax had to say:
"Although the B-Agile is a global platform, the products which Britax EMEA has shipped into Europe are not affected by this recall in North America. The products in the USA and Europe are different, including the attachments and the infant carriers. We always advise parents to follow the user guide and by doing so parents are safe to use our products. However, safety and peace-of-mind of our consumers are the highest priorities for Britax. Should our customers in Europe wish to exchange their current Click & Go adapters for the replacement adapters free of charge, they can register at the following link: www.quality-initiative.eu."

Yes you do, quite a few in fact. Although it's not the most expensive buggy, and sells for a reasonably affordable £230, you do have to spend money on extras. Firstly, the bumper bar is not included with the buggy and you'll need to fork out £20 for it.
The Buggy tray is also extra, at £25, the buggy apron is an additional £30 and the cosytoes will set you back an extra £50!
Of course, there are extras like the changing bag and Britax’s infant car seat, that you'd expect to be an addtional cost. But if you're getting the essentials the Britax B-Agile 4 is likely to cost you around £305 in total.
Tell us about the hood of the Britax B-Agile 4.
One of the great features of the current Britax buggy range is the hood and the B-Agile has this too. In the middle of the hood is an additional zippered extension containing a sun mesh that protects your little one's eyes but allows them to see out.
Removing the need for extra add-on sunshades can only be a good thing in my book – one less thing to remember to carry (or in my case, to forget!).
How does the Britax B-Aglie 4 pushchair feel when pushing it?
The B-Agile feels light and really manoeuvrable. I regularly manage to steer it one-handed. Freya likes to walk sometimes but is not big enough for us to abandon the buggy just yet, so at least with this model I’m pushing an easy-to-steer buggy single-handed whilst trying to convince her to hold my other hand!
The B-Agile’s large canopy pocket is a great addition. This roomy pocket can even hold a baby bag or handbag if you manage to fill up the capacious shopping basket underneath.
The fabric of the B-Agile is strong and wipeable but also has a soft feel, making the buggy feel warm to sit in during the winter. I can imagine that in the summer the soft fabric will feel much nicer on the legs when Freya wears shorts, compared to the normal plastic-feeling fabric found on some other buggies.
What's the basket on the Britax B-Aglie 4 like?
This may be a compact, lightweight buggy but it doesn’t skimp on the things you need to use every day – there’s a spacious shopping basket and a large storage pocket in the canopy. A raincover is included, too.
The handlebar of the B-Agile is not adjustable. While this was fine for me, it may not suit everyone. My husband is nearly a foot taller than me and found the handle a little too low. Also, a friend who has much longer legs than me (lucky her) found she kicked the wheels occasionally when striding out.
The B-Agile is very stylish to look at but only comes in the basic colours of red and black. With so many amazing-coloured buggies on the market, there will be parents keen for a more varied choice.
This buggy is light and compact but not the lightest or smallest folding on the market - if space really is of a premium it is possible to go even smaller.
