The Easyfold stroller is a super-compact, super-light buggy ideal for holidays and weekends away, but isn’t so suitable for heavy, everyday use.
The Easyfold is the second buggy to come from the Quicksmart brand, following on from the success of its original Backpack Buggy, which was launched in 2005. Quicksmart is an Australian company on a mission to make products that are convenient, portable and innovative, and in 2007 the Easyfold was awarded the Australian Design Mark.
What we love
The Quicksmart Easyfold folds up so small that it’s almost unbelievable, and I love the way it unfolds – it just pops up like a magic trick. It’s also so small you can take it on a plane as hand luggage, and it will even fit in an overhead locker. You can also get it into the footwell of your car.
The fold mechanism is different to any other buggy around, so it can take a bit of getting the hang of, but once you’ve sussed it it’s really easy – and there’s a video on the website if you need a bit of help!
What to watch out for
It’s not really comfy enough for everyday use if you’re out walking with your baby a lot, although you can buy a comfort pack to make it a bit more cosy, which includes pads for the straps and a foot muff. When I put my baby in it, he seemed a little bit slumped sitting in the seat, although this didn’t seem to upset him. It’s also not suitable to use from birth. Finally, the Easyfold doesn’t have a very big shopping basket, but that helps keep it light, which is the main point of this buggy.
Who is the Easyfold best for?
Jet-set families who enjoy holidays abroad.
A great buggy to keep as a spare at grandma’s or the childminder’s house, and perfect for holidays abroad as it’s so light and compact. It’s very good value, too, but as an everyday buggy as it doesn’t seem sturdy enough for long-term use.
