While the screen might be smaller, the SEW-3020 is not without all the important features and more. With a clear digital screen, night-vision, two-way talk, a temperature sensor, nightlight, remote lullabies (that don’t sound distorted) and the ability to connect up to four cameras, the Samsung SEW-3020 is a great package. Add in the fact that you can use an SD card to record all your baby’s precious moments, which you can keep for yourself or upload onto Facebook or Twitter with ease, and you have a monitor that’s really worth owning.
What we love
The Samsung SEW-3020 Wireless Monitor is simply stylish. As with all Samsung monitors, it looks the part and does the job it’s supposed to – well!
Even though I’m always slightly cautious about products with lots of functions (because I wonder how many I’ll use), Samsung has made the SEW-3020 so simple to operate I couldn’t wait to use them all. The instructions are easy to read and setting the monitor up and trying it is a pleasure. Even using the SD card to record is a breeze – when you only have a couple of buttons to press you can’t go too wrong.
Although the SEW-3020 has a slightly smaller screen than other Samsung monitors, the image is just as good. I never tire of watching my children sleep, and I guess that’s the only drawback of the crystal-clear screen - you can’t stop looking at it.
I also find it completely interference-free, as you’d expect from a leading digital company. I actually preferred this smaller parent unit as it’s easier to carry around. It might not look quite as chic as the Samsung SEW-3035 but it’s certainly a lot more practical and still looks stylish.
The remote lullabies sound very authentic. I’ve used other monitors where the lullabies sound tinny and as a result not very soothing, but the SEW-3020 delivers a clear tune, which my baby Heidi giggles at. Not quite the response I wanted, but it’s better than crying!
Overall, I really like the monitor and use it with complete confidence.
What to watch out for
The Samsung SEW-3020 is still quite expensive compared to other monitors, but if you like quality, style and ultimate reassurance, the SEW-3020 is definitely worth the money if you can afford it.
The monitor doesn’t have a digital zoom, but if you can angle the camera correctly, this isn’t a problem.
As with other Samsung monitors, I find the temperature sensor is a few degrees out.
Who is the Samsung SEW-3020 Wireless Monitor best for?
Style-savvy parents who like ultimate reassurance and ease of use.
A stylish video monitor with a crystal-clear image to give you total confidence. Laden with features, it can soothe your baby back to sleep with lullabies, enable you to record your baby’s movements and upload them on to social networks, and even connect up to four cameras. The SEW-3020 is easy to use, and even though it’s slightly more expensive than other monitors, the quality of this product may be enough to warrant it.
