Pros

  • Robust and well sealed

Cons

  • Fiddly to get wipes out

Tesco’s My Baby’s ultra soft wipes are very well priced and gentle on sensitive skin. Robust and smelling of aloe vera, these wipes offer effective cleaning without breaking the tightest of budgets.

Mums, like everyone, are looking for any ways to save money. And most importantly, ways to pull in the purse strings without compromising on their baby’s care. I really think Tesco’s My Baby’s ultra soft wipes are a great way to achieve this. For their reasonable price tag, you get a decent product.

In the light green friendly packaging with a cartoon baby who clearly loves the wipes, they state they are ‘consultant dermatologist approved and help protect delicate skin’ and with the added advantage of ‘added extracts of natural aloe vera and chamomile’.

What we love

Tesco’s My Baby’s ultra soft wipes work out at just over a penny a wipe - great value by any standards.

The delicate skin issue is a big one for my 11-month-old Zac and I. Zac’s skin is incredibly sensitive and doesn’t take well to a change of products. I had little reason to worry as these wipes were clearly kind to skin - Zac didn’t show any skin reaction to them.

The scented wipes really leave your baby’s bottom smelling clean and of aloe vera. They’re very strong and cope with a multitude of nasties in any nappy.

What to watch out for

Tesco’s My Baby’s ultra soft wipes weren’t as soft to the touch as other brands, despite the packet’s claim of ‘ultra soft’. They also weren’t as wet as others I’ve used.

I did get into a bit of a pickle when I had Zac’s legs in one hand and had difficulty grabbing any wipes from the pack. When I did get some, I got more than I bargained for. I did slam the snap shut lid rather fiercely afterwards but it was strong enough to deal with my frustration.

Who are Tesco’s My Baby’s ultra soft wipes best for?

MadeForMums verdict

The fiddling about to get the wipes out of the packet is more than make up for in value for money and kindness to your baby’s skin. These strong, kind wipes certainly shouldn’t be dismissed for being just a supermarket’s own brand, and are worth trying even if you’re used to a more expensive name.
