UK-based Tommee Tippee is one of the baby brand giants when it comes to all things feeding, from sterilisers to bottles and beyond. With that in mind, it's no surprise that they’ve now added a wearable breast pump to broaden their range and solidify their title as the No.1 feeding brand in the UK.
The Tommee Tippee Made for Me Wearable In-Bra Breast Pump, which is specially designed to be hands-free, portable and discreet, is equipped with smart ConstantComfort Technology, meaning the pump is designed to mimic your baby’s suckling sensation for a gentle and more natural pumping experience.
The pump also comes with a range of features to aid your comfort such as a nipple alignment light, milk collector bottles compatible with their existing Closer to Nature teats, and a purpose-built app to link with the product. Priced at £199.99, (although at the time of writing this review it's widely on offer for £99.99) it’s available as a single or double pump (at the extra cost of £349.99 or, currently, £159.99), and is sure to rival existing high-end brands such as Elvie or Willow that currently dominate the in-bra wearable breast pump market.
About our parent tester
Rebecca Sayce tested the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump with her newborn and her 2-year-old daughter. They tested the product on different breasts, on different settings, and at different times of the day. Both children also tried the bottles provided as part of the product.
What were your first impressions of the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump?
After trying a number of different wearable pumps since the birth of my eldest child, I was excited to see how Tommee Tippee’s offering measured up after being aware of the brand since I was a child myself. On receiving the product, I was immediately impressed by its cube-shaped box and eye-catching graphics highlighting the product's key features.
Despite containing so many accessories, the product can fit compactly in the box making it easy to store after each use.
How easy was the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump to set up?
Before use, the Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump needs to be charged via the lead and plug provided, which comes with a number of adaptors to suit different plug types. The product was quick to charge, and incredibly easy to set up, requiring the user to slot the horn into the pump, attach the milk collection bottle and it was ready to go.
The instructions both in the booklet provided and on the dedicated app were simple to follow and came with illustrations - something I found particularly useful to show me exactly what needed doing. You can also watch this manufacturer’s assembly video to aid the process if needed.
How comfortable was the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump to use?
The pump is designed with Smart ConstantComfort technology that claims to mimic your baby’s natural suckling sensation while holding the pump in place for an effective, yet gentle pumping experience. The claim is accurate, with the stimulation and pumping settings both remarkably mimicking a newborn baby, which aids in the comfort of using the pump.
One complaint I have had with competing products is how uncomfortable the sensation of pumping can be, but Tommee Tippee’s offering is bringing a new level of comfort to the table.
However, despite promising to be lightweight and discreet, I found the Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump to be of a moderate weight and incredibly large in comparison to other products on the market.
Using both feeding bras and soft sports bras, it proved difficult to fit the pump in my bra at all, let alone comfortably due to its size, even when utilising the included bra extender. Because of this, the pump was quite uncomfortable to use even while sitting and trying to relax. It does comes with both a 24mm and 28mm horn as standard to fit comfortably to different breasts, though these are the only 2 sizes available.
Are there a choice of settings on the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump?
Yes, there are a multitude of different settings when using the pump – both for stimulation and pumping – to best utilise every user’s needs. I thought I would find the abundance of settings overwhelming, but I found the range incredibly useful to find a strength of pumping that best suited me and was comfortable.
How well do the settings of the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump work?
Despite trying the different settings and adjusting the strength of the pump, I did not find it made much difference to my output. However, I do think the range of pump strengths available makes the product stand out from its competitors and can help users find a setting that works best for them and is comfortable, as opposed to other products that have less range.
How effectively did you find the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump expressed?
While I was impressed with the range of settings, I was disappointed with the pump overall due to the lack of milk it helped me express when compared to other products I’ve used, such as the Elvie wearable pump. Despite trying different strengths of pumping and the length of time stimulating, it did not express much milk during each sitting. It took a long time to express only a few ounces of milk, by which point the battery on the pump usually ran out. I don’t feel like the product aided milk production or helped to relieve my supply, and rather meant I felt uncomfortable for a long time with not much payoff.
Is the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump app useful?
The Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump comes complete with a purpose-built Tommee Tippee app that allows you to easily control the product from your smartphone – perfect for pumping on the go. I found it simple to connect the pump to the app – simply hold the power button until a blue light shows and link with your phone using bluetooth. Once connected, you can adjust the settings of the pump, stop and start it, and also record pumping sessions and the amount of milk expressed in each sitting. You can also gather data and insights which can be especially useful when asked about your breastfeeding journey by health visitors, doctors etc. I found the app to be incredibly useful, although one problem I did come across was that each time I turned the pump off I had to reconnect it to the app rather than the app remembering my device.
How do you rate the features of the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump?
My favourite feature of the Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump was absolutely the nipple alignment light that helps users position the pump correctly. It made creating a firm suction with the pump and breast incredibly easy, and also made it perfect to use in the dark during night feeds.
Another nifty feature the pump boasts is the fact the milk collectors are compatible with Tommee Tippee’s Closer to Nature teats, meaning you can feed your youngster straight from the pump — saving you valuable time sterilising bottles.
How portable is the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump?
It is easy to grab the pump, horns, bottles and charger, throw them in your handbag and take them on the go to work, to the shops, visiting family and friends – basically anywhere. While it isn’t the lightest wearable pump, it is a lot lighter than other manual and electric products and is wire free, which makes it a lot more portable. It comes with a soft fabric carry case with a drawstring that keeps it clean and protected while being transported, but this only fits the accessories if the pump is assembled rather than separately.
How noisy is the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump?
When in use, the Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump emits a moderate noise level which is not loud, but there are quieter options, such as the renown discreet Elvie breast pump – however this comes with a much higher price tag of £269. I felt comfortable using the Tommee Tippee wearable pump at home while my baby napped and was confident she wouldn’t be woken, but I would not feel comfortable using this pump at work as it is not discreet enough.
How do you charge the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump?
The Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump comes with a charger, cable, and different charging adaptors to suit different plugs such as UK, EU and US. Tommee Tippee claims that after a full charge, the pump can complete 12 x 20-minute pumps, giving you around 4-hours in total. I found that it held its charge well while unplugged for around 10 hours, with pumps in between lasting around 15 to 20 minutes. I was impressed with how long it held its power, even while being used throughout the day, compared to other products that need multiple charges, which can prove disruptive while trying to care for children, or when on the go.
How easy is the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump to clean?
One of the best things about the Tommee Tippee wearable pump is how easy it is to clean. There are only 4 parts to the pump – 3 which need to be washed between usage. It is simple to dismantle and reassemble once it has been washed, with no nooks and crannies that prove difficult to get to. The parts need sterilising between use which I did using both a sterilising machine and a pot of boiling water, both of which worked well and did not lead to any warping, clouding, or staining of the product after regular use. It is important to note that the outer body of the pump is not dishwasher safe as it contains electronics and should instead be wiped down with a damp cloth.
How does the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump compare with other wearable breast pumps you’ve used?
In comparison to other wearable breast pumps, such as the Elvie which I use regularly, the Tommee Tippee pump is a mixed bag. I did not find it garnered the same volume of milk nor is it as discreet or comfortable as the Elvie wearable pump. However, I did find the range of settings it offered to be larger meaning it could appeal to a wider audience. I also found its purpose-built app to work better than the Elvie app, which is important to me when using a pump on the go. The Smart ConstantComfort technology and nipple guide light are unique to the Tommee Tippee pump and make it truly stand out from the crowd. Price is the biggest consideration really, with the Elvie pump costing significantly more than the Tommee Tippee offering, particularly compared ot its current discounted price.

Are there any additional accessories you can purchase?
Now you’ve tested it, what would you have wanted to know about the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump before purchasing it?
I would have liked to have been made aware of the size of it to take into consideration whether or not it would be a useful fit for me. I found the pump to be quite bulky, despite all of its useful features. It would also be handy to know about its lack of milk output for me personally and the fact it’s not as discreet as some other rival wearable breast pumps on the market.
Who would the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump be most useful for?
This product would be most useful for those wanting to get acquainted with wearable breast pumps thanks to how easy it is to assemble and use, as well as its helpful features such as the nipple alignment light and milk collectors that can double as bottles with the Closer To Nature teats. Thanks to its impressive accompanying app, it would also be useful for those who want to track their breastfeeding journey. However, for those looking for a more discreet, wearable pump, I feel this would not be suitable due to its size and noise compared to other, quieter and smaller pumps on the market.
Is the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump worth the money?
In terms of the amount of features it offers, I believe this pump is worth its RRP of £199.99 as it offers a range of different settings for users to find what works best for them, as well as stand-out features that aid its ease of use. However, in terms of milk output and the amount I found I could pump using the product, I believe there are better value for money products to buy that are at the same high price point. As I've mentioned before though, the pump is currently widely available for £99.99.
Where can I buy the Tommee Tippee Made for Me In-Bra Wearable Breast Pump from?
It is available to buy from Tommee Tippee, John Lewis and Boots.
MadeForMums verdict
While this wearable breast pump offers a variety of settings, a nifty nipple alignment light, an impressive app and the intuitive Smart ConstantComfort technology, for me it lacked usability in the sense that it was large, cumbersome, and did not yield a large amount of milk.
There are other products on the market that I have had more success with and that I will use in future. While I would not personally recommend the product from my own experience, there are enough combinations of suction power and rhythm that it is bound to suit a variety of different mothers on their breastfeeding journey.
