Tutti Bambini was founded over 30 years ago with a simple goal – to support new mums and dads through their first moments as parents. What started as a small shop in London is now a brand that creates some of the UK’s leading nursery and baby furniture products.

The CoZee Go 3-in-1 bassinet, travel cot and playpen was created to complement Tutti Bambini’s award-winning CoZee bedside crib. Thanks to its sleek aesthetics (without compromising on functionality), this is one of the best-looking travel cots on the market. But that’s not the real draw – the Cozee Go 3-in-1 is effortless to put together (they say it takes less than 60 seconds) and cleverly packs away into a portable travel bag, meaning it’s ready to go whenever and wherever you are.

With an RRP of £169 it's at the premium end of the market, but offers versatility, quality and great looks.

About out parent tester

Travel editor Claire Köksal is always on the lookout for great child and baby products to take on her next assignment. Claire and 3-month-old Zach tested out the CoZee Go 3-in-1 cot at home for day naps and staying with family overnight.

First impressions?

The CoZee Go travel cot is already neatly packed away in its travel bag as you unbox it, so you can immediately see how well it can be stored and how easy it is to keep everything together. Inside the bag there is the mattress, bassinet insert and base of the cot, plus the instruction manual. Everything looks high quality and in on-trend Scandi-style colours (muted grey and smooth, pale wood) so it looks stylish, too.

How easy is the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go 3-in-1 cot to build?

Tutti Bambini say it takes 60 seconds to put together, and on my third attempt I managed just that. The instructions (all picture-led) are straightforward to follow and there aren’t too many pieces to assemble. You just unfold the legs on the cot and then pull the top bar to extend 2 sides to put the travel cot together before holding it in place with large plastic clasps. You do have to push in a little button at the 4 corners of the bar to extend 2 of the bars – I didn’t think this was totally clear in the instructions, but feels intuitive and easy to do after working out the first time.

To turn it into a bassinet you need to attach the bassinet insert. This just needs to be zipped in, and then you fold the mattress in half and place it in. Changing the cot from bassinet to travel cot/playpen is also very straightforward – unzip the bassinet insert, unfold the mattress and place it at the bottom.

The slight faff here is that you need to attach the mattress to the base via 12 little slips of Velcro, and the only way of doing this is by pulling through the hole on the base and threading the Velcro through. I found this fiddly and time consuming.

How does the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go compare to other travel cots you've used?

On the whole it’s very similar to other travel bassinets I’ve used before, although the mattress is much more comfortable (it still feels firm, but some have mattresses that feel like concrete!).

What age is the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go 3-in-1 cot suitable for?

In bassinet mode (using the zippable bassinet insert for newborns and foldable mattress) the CoZee Go is suitable from birth to approx 6 months (there's a weight limit of 9kg and shouldn't be used if your baby can sit up independently). As a floor-level cot/playpen it can be used from 6 months to around 3 years old. We tested it out in bassinet mode with our 3-month-old baby.

How firm is the mattress included with the CoZee Go?

I would say the mattress is firm, but slightly softer/spongier and thicker than our Chicco Next2Me cot. I think it feels extra padded because you need to fold it in half to use for the bassinet – it certainly doesn’t feel unsafe or too soft, and the texture springs back to normal quickly after you press on it.

When using the CoZee Go as a bassinet, how easy is it to access your baby?

The trapezium design of the legs mean that you can’t easily place the cot right next to your bed – plus it’s quite large with a footprint of L133cm x D98cm x H65cm, so you’d need to have a big bedroom/lots of space around your bed for it. Not one for teeny hotel rooms! Because of this, I did have to get out of bed and lean down to lift Zach up when he woke in the night. But this is only really an issue for when your baby is tiny.

Can the sides can be lowered?

No, you can’t lower the sides on the CoZee Go.

How easy is it to see your baby in the CoZee Go cot?

It’s nice and easy to see your baby in person and through a monitor – the mesh fabric is a pale grey colour so even at night (unless your room is absolutely pitch-black!) then you’ll be able to see your little one (hopefully…) sleeping.

What is the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go like as a travel cot?

To turn it from bassinet into a travel cot you just unzip the bassinet insert and then place the mattress at the base of the cot. As mentioned earlier, you need to feed through 12 slips of Velcro to secure it into place, which is time-consuming but I imagine useful when it’s being used as a playpen (when curious, stronger toddlers might be able to lift up the edges of the mattress!).

How easy is it to store and transport the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go cot?

My initial thoughts were that although everything packs away very nicely in the travel bag (included), it felt larger than other travel cots I’ve used before. However, this does include the mattress, which a lot of similar-style cots don’t automatically come with, and certainly wouldn’t be factored in when thinking about packing away/carrying the cot (ie you have to pack/store it separately). So, for me, this is a big plus point.

The cot is relatively lightweight at 6.5kg, and there’s a handle on the travel bag so it’s straightforward to carry around. The big issue I had is that I struggled to fit everything back into the bag, even though the instructions clearly tell you what order to pack the items away in. I still haven’t been able to do the zip up all the way and don’t want to force it in case the bag breaks.

How do you pack away the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go 3-in-1 cot?

The mattress folds easily in half, then you need to unzip and remove the bassinet insert. This also has little bits that fold inwards to make it smaller/fit in the bag. To collapse the cot you need to shorten the cot’s 2 longer sides – press the little button in the middle of the bar of each longer side to make the sides retract. From here, turn the cot upside down. Each leg has a slidey release clip at the top – push on this and then fold the legs inwards individually.

How compact is the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go when folded?

Everything folds up neatly into a L72cm x D62cm xH14cm package and there is a lightweight grey bag to store the 3 parts. As mentioned above, I struggled to fit everything back into the bag and still can’t zip it up!

Does the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go 3-in-1 cot fit easily into a car boot?

Yes, it fits easily into a car boot.

How comfy is the CoZee Go travel cot for your baby?

Zach seemed very comfortable – he napped well during the day and slept well at night, and there was lots room for when he starts moving/rolling around.

How do you turn the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go cot into a playpen?

To turn it into a playpen, remove the mattress and bassinet insert. Then, unfold the mattress and place it into the bottom of the cot. You need to manually attach the mattress to the bottom with 12 Velcro strips – pull each strip through a little slit at the cot’s base. As I’ve mentioned, this is a bit of a faff but it's a good safety feature. Very handily, there’s a little zip to open a semi-circle ‘door’ for your little one to crawl in and out of, rather than having to pick them up and place them inside as they get bigger.

How effective is the CoZee Go as a playpen?

We haven’t been able to try this as a playpen properly as Zach is too small, but I’m keen to use it when he’s large enough. It’s a good size for him and various toys to keep him entertained. The light grey mesh will be very useful here to see what he’s up to without having to be right next to him.

How durable does the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go cot feel?

The cot feels robust and well-made.

How easy is to keep the CoZee Go clean?

Tutti Bambini say you can wash the bassinet insert – just take out the hard insert and pop in the washing machine. The mattress isn’t machine washable, but doesn’t soak up liquid (Zach vomit tried-and-tested!) and is easy to wipe down with a wet cloth and a touch of non-bio detergent.

Are there any design elements of the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go you find particularly useful?

Yes, as mentioned before, the light grey mesh is great for keeping an eye on your baby/toddler without being right next to them. I'm sure the little zippable door opening of the playpen will come in handy when Zach gets older too.

What’s in the box?

  • Cot
  • Bassinet insert
  • Mattress
  • Travel bag
  • Instructions

Are there any additional accessories that you can buy?

Yes, you can buy the CoZee Go Day and Night Shade, £30, which zips round the cot to make the cot cosy and dark for day-time naps. It also provides UV protection of 50+.

Who would the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go 3-in-1 be most useful for?

Busy families who like to travel, and value high quality and great style. Also, parents who need 5 minutes to themselves to catch up on house admin while knowing their baby is safe in the playpen (that’ll be all of us, then!).

Is the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go worth the money?

Yes, I think this is a high-end, stylish travel cot that’s built to last and worth its price tag. While £169 is certainly at the higher-end of the market for travel cots (although it's currently discounted to £119 on the brand's website), the fact that it can be used as a newborn bassinet, travel cot and playpen makes it feel good value.

Where can I buy the Tutti Bambini CoZee Go 3-in-1 bassinet, travel cot and playpen?

Available from Tutti Bambini, Amazon and Natural Baby Shower.

MadeForMums verdict

This is such a great travel cot – everything bar managing to zip the bag back up has really impressed me. It’s easy to put together, looks great and packs up compactly for ease of transport.

The mattress is very comfortable – much better than similar products – so I think little ones will sleep well in it. I’m looking forward to trying out the playpen in a few months when Zach can sit up/start crawling!
