The Vista is a stylish 4-wheeled buggy with reversible seat and a removable carrycot. The buggy is suitable from 3 months to roughly 4 years (or 20kg, which is 5kg more than most buggies). The carrycot makes the Vista suitable from birth. The UPPAbaby Vista comes with a Maxi-Cosi infant car seat adaptor, so you can transform it into a travel system, which we’ve reviewed, too.
The Vista’s ‘no-flat’ wheels are made of foam and rubber, and can be removed with the push of a button. Other features include shock-absorbing suspension, a push on/push off brake, a height adjustable handle, 4-position seat recline and an extended seat height for tall tots. There’s also a ‘floating arch rear axle’ – basically, it means you don’t kick your toes when pushing it. Then there’s the Vista’s one-step fold, which can be done with or without the seat attached.
The carrycot boasts an organic latex mattress, designed to contour to the shape of your baby’s body. Its breathable cell-structure helps with air circulation, and this keeps your baby comfortable whatever the weather. Both the carrycot and buggy seat have a pop-out ventilated SPF 50+ sunshade.
The Vista weighs 11.5kg. With the carrycot attached, it’s 12.7kg.
What we love
Assembling the UPPAbaby Vista is really easy. Attaching the wheels takes seconds, and the seat is just clipped on. The hood and bumper bar are equally as straightforward to attach.
The UPPAbaby Vista’s wheelbase is wide and the seat very high, but this does mean you’ve got access to the hugest shopping basket I’ve ever come across on a pushchair. I was even stopped by a stranger who had buggy envy because of this shopping basket capacity. The seat’s height also sees your baby positioned within reach and away from pets or car fumes. If you’re eating out, you can pull the Vista up to the table in place of a highchair.
Freya loved how the seat could be positioned totally upright. The adjustable footrest also was a hit as it meant she could have her legs flat out in front, allowing her to play with whichever toy she had with her.
Freya’s too big for the carrycot, but our friend’s baby Margarite gave it a test, and she seemed incredibly safe and comfy in it.
The Vista’s take on the buggy board is the PiggyBack. This is suitable for children up to 22kg, and can be purchased separately. Soon to reach the UK is the Rumble Seat. The Rumble Seat attaches to the Vista to turn it into a double buggy. If you were to use both these extras, you’d have a transport option for three kids.
What to watch out for
Unlike the Vista’s rear wheels, the front ones are quite small and they didn’t always make it up the kerb without me having to give the buggy a good shove.
The UPPAbaby Vista’s size means it could be tricky to negotiate some tight spaces.
Who is the UPPAbaby Vista best for?
Parents who like to shop.
The UPPAbaby will transport loads whilst keeping your baby comfortable. Its ability to be rear or forward facing, have a carrycot attached or be used when eating out makes it a versatile choice. Keep you eye out for that doubles seat - it’ll mean the Vista boasts even more versatility for growing families.
