Pros

  • Neutral scent, easily absorbed, non-greasy, good value

Cons

  • Tube could be bigger, not particularly luxurious or good-looking

While not even dermatologists have found a proven way to prevent or reverse stretch marks, keeping skin moisturised with something like Pregnacare Cream may well help minimise any damage.

Vitabiotics, makers of the UK’s leading prenatal supplement Pregnacare, have branched out into the beauty market with this product, Pregnacare Cream. It contains vitamins C and E, calendula and evening primrose oil and claims to nourish, moisturise and heal stretching or contracting skin, during and after pregnancy. In trials, 73% of women said their skin felt more supple after two weeks’ of using the cream.

What we love

This has a pleasant, fairly neutral scent that won’t interfere with your perfume or get up sensitive pregnant noses.

It rubs in easily, is non-greasy and quickly absorbed, so you don’t have to hop around in the nude waiting for it to sink in, for fear of marking your clothes!

After only a few days’ use my normally neglected skin looked and felt smoother and I feel more confident that I’m doing what I can to keep stretchmarks at bay.

What to watch out for

My only real complaint was that the tube isn’t big enough! If you rub it liberally over your breasts, tummy and waist every day, as I do, it only lasts a couple of weeks. Admittedly, a little goes a long way, but the option to buy a larger size would be useful.

The packaging isn’t particularly stylish and some people might prefer a more luxurious, pampering product.

Who is Vitabiotics Pregnacare Cream best for?

Busy new mums or mums-to-be after a simple product that’s easy to incorporate into their daily routine.

MadeForMums verdict

Vitabiotics Pregnacare Cream is a pleasant, non-nonsense, good-value way to look after your stretching skin. It’s not greasy to apply, and the scent isn’t strong, which is good news for any mum-to-be with morning sickness.
