In a nutshell, the front of the Pourty Potty features a handle and at the back is the ‘pouring duct’ - it’s shaped like a spout, making it incredibly easy for parents to dispose of the potty’s contents. I used it while training my nearly 3-year-old son Sam, and I found that it really did minimise the mess. By providing the patented ‘pouring duct’, the Pourty provides one of the most hygienic disposal systems on the market. The handle makes the whole process as mess-free as possible, too. And, all this innovation is definitely not reflected in the cost – at £9.99 it’s at the cheaper end of the market.
What we love
The simplicity of the design is what is so great about the Pourty Potty. Having twice failed to train my son to use the toilet, he suddenly picked up the Pourty Potty and started doing his business on it.
No one really enjoys seeing the contents of the potty, but the spout design, together with the handle, really makes the emptying the potty fuss-free and mess-free.
My son, Sam, also found it very comfortable.
Although it featured a wide base to provide extra stability and comfort, the Pourty Potty is not too big, so I could take it with me on my first trips out of the house.
What to watch out for
I have to say there’s not a lot wrong with this product. The Pourty Potty is not for you if you’re after one of the super-stylish potties starting to appear (the ones that could be mistaken for small pieces of art!). It follows a basic style, but if that’s what you are after then the Pourty Potty is right up your street.
There’s nowhere for any disposable bags etc to be placed inside the seat if that’s your preference.
Who is the Waterly Bottom Products Pourty Potty best for?
No-fuss mums after a basic potty they can quickly – and hygienically – empty.
The Pourty Potty is one of those products that leaves you thinking, “Why has no one invented this before?” Simple and thoughtfully designed, the Pourty Potty that does exactly what it says on the tin – no fuss and no mess – for a very reasonable price.
