  • 1tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1tbsp Hoisin sauce
  • 1tbsp Honey
  • ¼tsp Fresh ginger
    grated
  • ¼ Red onion
    chopped
  • ½ Chicken stock cube
    crumbled
  • ½tsp Olive oil
  • 1 Clove of garlic
    crushed
  • 225g Minced chicken
  • 20g Breadcrumbs
  • 1tsp Parsley

    Method

    • step 1

      Mix together the soy, hoisin, honey and ginger and set aside.

    • step 2

      Sauté the red onion for approximately six minutes, until soft. Add the garlic and cook for a further one minute. Transfer to a bowl and cool slightly, then mix in the minced chicken, crumbled stock, breadcrumbs and parsley, plus salt and pepper to taste. Form into four burgers.

    • step 3

      Cook for 5 minutes over medium hot coals (you should be able to hold your hand over the barbecue comfortably for 10 seconds). As they’re cooking, brush tops with teriyaki sauce and turn and repeat every minute. Serve in a bun with salad garnish and relish.
