  • 175g Red skinned apple
  • 25g Plain flour
  • 2tsp Caster sugar
  • 7g Butter
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon

    Method

    • step 1

      Peel, core and slice the apples, put in a microwaveable dish with two tablespoons of water. Cover and microwave on ‘high’ for two minutes or until the fruit is tender. Break up with a spoon until mushy then spoon into the base of three small or one medium ovenproof dish.

    • step 2

      Place the flour, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl (or food processor) then rub in the butter until it looks like crumbs. Scatter on top of the stewed apples.

    • step 3

      Bake at 180C/350F/Gas mark 4 for 20-25 minutes or until the crumble is golden. Cool. Serve warm with a little natural yogurt spooned over.

    Tips

    You could also add a few blackberries to the apple to add colour and flavour.
