How to Christmas wrap a scooter to look like a reindeer: step by step picture and video guide
Follow our brilliant step by step instructions to make a child's scooter look like a red-nosed reindeer. All you need is cardboard, brown paper, tape and a scarf...
So your child's getting a scooter for Christmas – and now you're wondering how to wrap it so it doesn't look too obviously scooter-y under the Christmas tree.
What you need is a cunning disguise. Well, we've got just the thing: a reindeer disguise!
Follow our how-to video (above) and a step-by-step picture guide (below) to find out how you can gift-wrap a scooter to look like a reindeer.
It does take a bit of time – so definitely not something to leave until midnight on Christmas Eve – and you might need extra helping hands, but the results are worth it!
Here's your step-by-step guide to Christmas-wrapping a scooter to look like a reindeer
What you'll need:
- Cardboard
- Sharpie pen
- Scissors
- Brown wrapping paper
- Scooter
- Brown parcel tape
- Scarf or snood
- Red gift bow
Step 1
Take your cardboard and draw the outline of 2 antlers on it with the Sharpie pen. Cut the antlers out and set them aside.
Step 2
Unroll the wrapping paper and place it on a flat, sturdy surface. Put the scooter on top
Step 3
Now wrap the scooter, starting with the base and wheels. Use as many layers of wrapping paper as necessary to conceal the scooter and to also bulk it out a little at the front to look (a little) like a reindeer's chest. Stick the paper down securely with parcel tape
Step 4
Cut strips of wrapping paper to wrap around the scooter handle (or reindeer neck)
Step 5
Attach the first strip to the base of the handle with parcel tape. Then wrap the rest of the strip round and round the handle. Secure the end, then attach another strip and repeat util the entire handle and handlebars are wrapped.
Step 6
Place the scarf around the base of the handle (the reindeer's neck) or, if using a snood, slip it over the handlebars to rest at the base of the handle
Step 7
Pick up an antler, line it up level with one handlebar so the antler 'spikes' stick out beyond the handlebar, and then stick them down. Repeat with the other antler on the other handlebar. Use the pen to draw 2 eyes. Stick on the gift bow for the red reindeer's nose
And then you're done!
