How do you and your family like to spend Halloween? Is it tucked up on the sofa watching movies like The Addams Family Values and Hocus Pocus? Carving pumpkins and visiting pumpkin patches? Or maybe it's heading to a Halloween event like Thorpe Park's Fright Night or Halloween at LEGOLAND? If it's the latter, we have a brilliant activity for you.

When it comes to theme park Halloween events, Thorpe Park and Alton Towers are the two biggest names in the game. However, when it comes to Halloween fun for the whole family, we'd recommend Alton Towers's Scarefest over Thorpe Park's Fright Night as that event is aimed towards teenagers 13 and over.

The award-winning Scarefest at Alton Towers boasts thrilling activities like Scare Mazes, live shows, and rollercoasters after dark, such as The Wicker Man and The Smiler, as well as The Alton Towers Dungeon.

The Alton Towers Dungeon is a 45-minute experience which will take you and your family through five shows. To give you a taster, you'll experience The Haunting, where you’ll take refuge in an abandoned cottage, and The Highwayman, where you’ll meet cunning highwaymen who are taking refuge in the dungeon. There's also The Black River Boat Ride which takes you beneath Alton Towers to greet the terrifying dungeon residents and the less-than-lovely smells.

As well as some frightful attractions, there's also plenty for younger children to sink their fangs into. Scarefest offers the Cbeebies Monster Ball and Amigos in the Afterlife realm for little ones.

Amigos in the Afterlife takes your youngsters through an interactive walkway filled with colourful Dia De Los Muertos decorations and friendly spirits.
