Episode 2: Getting back to sleep for 2 to 5 year olds

Children sometimes wake in the night for a number of reasons (perhaps they've had a bad dream, have got too hot / too cold, are feeling unwell or it's just one of 'those' nights).

If you've had issues with your child stirring in the night and not being able to get back to sleep - worry not.

This episode of Sleepy Time includes simple, practical exercises your child can do as they lie in bed, to help them calm down in body and mind and get them back to sleep.

This podcast can be used any time your child wakes in the night. Initially, you can stay with them as they drift off to sleep again.

Eventually, though, as they get used to listening to the podcast, you will hopefully be able to leave them to use the techniques to help them go back to sleep on their own.

Our Sleepy Time podcast, made in partnership with wellbeing and mindfulness experts In The Moment magazine, helps children aged 2 to 5 years, and 5 to 8 years, become settled and peaceful sleepers. Exercises and meditations have been created by psychologist and yoga teacher Suzy Reading, and will build into a toolkit that your child will be able to learn and use by themselves over time. Meditation expert Gemma David of The Quiet Heart is our soft-voiced podcast narrator.
