  • 225g Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 50g Butter
    cut into cubes
  • 70g Plain flour
  • 3tbsp Cocoa powder
  • ½tsp Vanilla essence
  • ½tsp Baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Edible cake glitter

    Method

    • step 1

      Cream the sugar and eggs together.

    • step 2

      Add butter and mix in until there are no lumps. Then add the vanilla essence.

    • step 3

      Sieve the cocoa, baking powder and flour. Fold in carefully to the mixture. Add the pinch of salt.

    • step 4

      Pour into a greased square cake tin and cook for 20-25 mins at 180C.

    • step 5

      To check the brownies are cooked, make sure they feel spongy to the touch and that when you insert a skewer into the middle, it comes out clean.

    • step 6

      When cool, shake edible glitter sprinkles over the top to give them a fairy glow.
